Advance Realty Holiday Spirit Aids More Than 500 Disadvantaged Children and 400 American Soldiers Overseas
Company Also Recognized by New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells
Advance Realty, a leading Northeast U.S. owner and developer of Class A office properties and mixed-use developments, today announced that its holiday donations of commercial real estate space helped several organizations collect more than 18,000 pounds of care package items for American soldiers overseas and more than 500 toys for the Newark Now organization.
In addition, New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells recognized Advance Realty for its generous support in providing warehouse space for the 19th Annual Gifts of the Season Program at MiddleBrook Crossings industrial park in Bridgewater, N.J. Along with approximately 30 other non-profit organizations, the Gifts of the Season Program, coordinated by the Somerset County United Way, helps disadvantaged families, children, disabled adults and seniors in Somerset County by providing gifts, warm coats, winter apparel and food.
Also taking place at MiddleBrook Crossroads was the Operation Jersey Cares and Patriots’ Path Council of the Boy Scouts of America collection of food, candies, snacks, toiletries, books, CDs, DVDs and personal items that filled 30,000 square feet of warehouse space. More than 300 Scouts and volunteers packed the 18,000 pounds of items into more than 400 care packages for American troops in Iraq.
In Newark, N.J., at Advance’s One Gateway building, the company donated its lower lobby and The Gallery space to Lionel Trains for a toy drive event that collected more than 500 gifts and additional monetary donations for Newark Now, which was founded in 2002 by Mayor Cory Booker to provide Newark residents with skills, tools, and support to transform their neighborhoods. The organization conducts multi-faceted initiatives designed to improve safety, economic independence and civic participation.
“In addition to various donations made by the Advance Realty Foundation, every year we donate thousands of square feet of commercial real estate space to assist the myriad of organizations collecting gifts and goods during the holiday season,” said Kurt Padavano, COO of Advance Realty. “Advance Realty has always believed it’s incumbent upon us, both as an employer and as a company, to contribute to the social and economic well being of the communities in which we operate. These space donations are just one way in which Advance gives back to the community.”
