Starting on April 27, Popular Asian-American Supermarket Chain Will Occupy 25,000 SF at 60 Route 17 North
Advance Realty, a leading developer of commercial, residential, industrial, retail and mixed-use projects, will join H Mart on April 27 to celebrate the grand opening of a new store in Paramus, New Jersey. The 25,000-square-foot supermarket will open its doors at 10:30 a.m.
H Mart, an upscale Asian-American supermarket chain that’s been in business for more than 34 years, is the latest addition to the tenant roster at 60 Route 17 North, which is also home to retailers DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse and PetSmart. Headquartered in nearby Lyndhurst, H Mart specializes in both traditional Asian and international foods with fresh produce, poultry, seafood, , and ready-to-cook items. The company, which operates more than 90 stores nationwide, has nine locations in New Jersey, including Fort Lee, Leonia, Englewood, Edison, Cherry Hill, Little Ferry and Ridgefield.
“H Mart brings a new dynamic to Paramus, which is among the region’s premier shopping destinations,” said Jared Minatelli, Advance Realty’s director of asset management. “The supermarket operates extremely successful locations throughout the state, and we expect the concept to thrive at 60 Route 17 North, which consistently captures a high volume of retail traffic.”
Adjacent to the Westfield Garden State Plaza, the third-largest mall in the New York Metropolitan Area, 60 Route 17 North was acquired in 2015 by an Advance Realty joint venture, which was attracted to the retail center due, in large part, to its location on an established trade corridor.
Advance Realty acquired 60 Route 17 North as part of a 244,000-square-foot retail portfolio comprised of two properties and four buildings. The other property, located at 289-315 Route 17 South, features 169,200 square feet of space, and is home to a PGA Tour Superstore, P.C. Richard & Son, as well as 46,000 square feet of redeveloped retail space that is currently under construction.
